Žarana Papić (1949 – 2002) was our prominent feminist anthropologist, theoretician and political activist who helped create feminism in Yugoslavia and who persistantly fought all forms of nationalism.
The book Žarana Papić. Texts 1979 – 2002 represents an overview of her work. It contains 18 texts, two interviews and a full bibliography of her published works. The book is published by the Center for Gender and Political Studies, Reconstruction Women’s Fund and Women in Black, and edited by Adriana Zaharijević, Daša Duhaček and Zorica Ivanović.
The experimental movie This Is My Report to You contains quotes and authentic audio materials from Žarana’s texts, conversations and lectures. Žarana Papić was a political activist who through her work obligated us to continue to opose fascism and nationalism. The movie has been translated into sign language with the idea of continuously questioning thought and language.
